Muir Energy “keeps it simple” with their limited ingredient energy gels, and they approached packaging the same way.

When Muir Energy approached IMPAK about single-serve packets for their energy gel, the idea was to keep the packaging as simple as the contents. IMPAK’s gel pouch offered source reduction and convenience in the form of a dispenser tip pouch that uses less material than alternatives, and is ready to “grab and go.” They liked how the tear notches on the tip of the pouch allow for quickly squirting the contents with no mess.

Step 1: Stock Silver Pouch

As an introduction to the product line, they started with regularly stocked plain silver pouches. These small, ready-to-order liquid dispensing packets were an ideal way to test the filling process and could be individually labeled.

Step 2: Custom Size & Color Pouches

The next improvement was to choose a specific size and color for their pouches. These dispenser tip squeeze packets allow Muir Energy to test many different flavors using the same package; if a flavor is discontinued, no pouches go to waste.

Step 3: Custom Printed Pouch

The custom printed gel pouch seen here was the fastest, most efficient solution. The new design increased perceived product value.
