It is child-resistant because it has no tear-notch and requires scissors to open (compliant in states such as Nevada). Check your state compliance laws to determine if this item meets requirements. IMPAK is not responsible for updating you on ever-changing compliance laws across all states.

These cut-to-open zipper pouches feature high barrier protection against light, moisture, oxygen, and scents (smell-proof when packaged correctly). Once sealed, the approximate inner dimensions are 2.75” x 6.75”. They may be ordered in stock silver or custom printed. IMPAK offers both custom print and labeling services.

Without a tear notch, these flat pouches are designed to be child resistant and are ready for ASTM Child-Resistant Certification (not included; contact IMPAK for pre-certified bags). The pouches are made from a multi-layer material that is FDA approved for food, and difficult to tear without the aid of a tear notch. Once sealed, the CR bags are tamper-evident. After cutting off the sealed header above the zipper, contents can be accessed and the bag is resealable; however, this standard zipper is not child-resistant.

Material: This pouch is made from PAKVF4, a lamination of film foil and polyethylene that has a wide range of uses where a high barrier film with a low WVTR (Water Vapor Transmission Rate) is needed. PAKVF4’s high barrier properties make it ideal for packaging hygroscopic items and products susceptible to corrosion. It is frequently used in food or medical device packaging, where very low oxygen levels are required.
