The UROTAINER™ is a unique product designed to facilitate at-home sample collection for medical diagnostics. When folded down, the Urotainer™ measures 4" x 4.75" and is only 3mm / 1/8" thick. This means that it saves a great deal of space for storage, but more importantly, it can be easily placed in a flat envelope or mailer for easy shipping as part of a full testing kit. Unlike more bulky collection cups in many kits on the market, the Urotainer™ allows for a lower profile package - meaning better shipping options, less plastic waste and a overall more cost effective collection method. As more and more at-home medical testing procedures come to market, the Urotainer™ presents a convenient way to reduce the size of otherwise bulky test kits.
Once the Urotainer™ is ready for use, it can be easily deployed with one hand by squeezing the sides together. It unfolds into a 2" x 2" x 4.75" box made from water-resistant coated cardboard that is open at the top; sealed inside the rim of the open end of the box is a small polypropylene (PP) bag that acts as a liner inside the box - keeping sample liquids from touching the outside material. When it comes time to trtansfer the material into the return vial, the edges of the box act as an almost spout to help pour the sample without mess. When deployed, the Urotainer™ is a convenient way to collect and deposit a urine sample into the rigid test container to be mailed back.
