Desiccant Packets

IMPAK Corporation maintains inventory on many sizes of desiccant packets for use across varying industries. Desiccant packets are used to remove the residual water vapor remaining inside of a sealed container or package thus preventing hygroscopic products from experiencing the adverse effects of continuous exposure to water vapor or moisture. Ranging in packet or sachet size from 0.25 grams all the way up to 112 grams with packaging materials such as Tyvek and various woven and non-woven configurations all in stock at our Los Angeles facility.

The amount of desiccant required will vary by application and customer-specific needs such as type of packaging, type of product and amount of headspace and interstitial space after closing/sealing the container among others. The table below shows the standard range of sizes for desiccant packets. If the specification for your application calls for a particular packaging material, IMPAK can accomodate that. Though the majority of these sachets are packaed with Tyvek®, other materials are available, such as Unisel® (found in packets sold by ULINE).

Are you looking uncoated Tyvek® coverstock with an edge weld?

Many manufacturers no longer support production of edge welded desiccant sachets, but edge welds are standard for IMPAK's StayDry™ desiccant packets. Why? Many of our customers use specifications that require this style of packet, and some dimensions are not possible with the "strip pack" style sachets that other brands make. Strip pack style desiccant packets have excess coverstock material at the ends of each packet; edge welded packets minimize unit size with the same quantity of desiccant medium inside. Also, the ultrasonic weld on IMPAK's desiccant packets is proven to be a more secure seal, and the reduced amount of coverstock material used has many benefits at scale.
