MylarFoil bags are used and trusted globally as an eco-friendly alternative to rigid packaging. IMPAK regularly produces Mylar® stand pouches, drum liners, fin seal pouches, heavy duty bags, mini pouches, vista bags, and ZipSeal™ pouches. Originally developed by DuPont, ICI, and Hoechst, Mylar® is a popular packaging material across many industries. What makes Mylar® so great? It's a perfect, chemically stable insulator, with high tensile strength and an exceptional gas and moisture barrier. Mylar films with special foil laminates are the packaging of choice for a diverse lineup of products. It is valued for preserving everything from food to artwork to NASCAR tires. When your product needs a long and stable shelf life, put it in a laminated Mylar® bag along with our Oxygen Absorbers to prevent oxidation. Our MylarFoil bags and pouches use FDA and USDA compliant liner material for safe food contact. Don’t see the Mylar® product you need? IMPAK can fabricate the packaging to your exact specifications.

What is Mylar?
Mylar is a polyester film made from stretched polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and is used for its high tensile strength, chemical and dimensional stability, transparency, reflectivity, gas and aroma barrier properties, and electrical insulation. Because polyester film is less permeable to gasses than other plastics, it is often favored in the food packaging industry.
